BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

Welcome to Ice Skating Queensland! We are the peak governing body for ice skating in Queensland, overseeing the figure skating disciplines of Singles, Pairs, Ice Dance, Synchronized Skating and Theatre on Ice. We are a not-for-profit, member-based organisation that welcomes people of all skating abilities and aspirations.

Ice Skating Queensland is proud to offer the following programs and initiatives to support the development of skaters in the disciplines of Figure Skating and Synchronized Skating.

  • Competitions: In partnership with our Affiliated Clubs, Skaters and Teams have multiple opportunities to compete close to home. Queensland is home to two Champ Series competitions, which enable Skaters to achieve ‘qualifying scores’ which are required to compete at the Australian Figure Skating Championships and many international competitions. Visit our Competitions page for more.
  • ISA Testing: ISQ, with thanks to the dedication of volunteer Judges, provides Testing opportunities year-round. Tests are available in a variety of disciplines including singles, pairs and ice dance. Visit our Programs & Testing page for more.
  • Financial Assistance: ISQ recognises the expensive nature of the sport and provides financial assistance to ISQ Members through its Financial Assistance Policy. Visit our Rules & Policies page for more.
  • ISQ Accelerate Program: This program is designed to accelerate the progression of motivated young skaters from Free Skate levels, completing their first ISA Tests, through to confidently competing in Elementary divisions. Visit our Programs & Testing page for more.
  • ISQ High Performance Program: This invite-only program is designed to complement skaters training and elevate their performance with both on and off-ice training all geared towards supporting athletes to achieve higher technical elements and scoring.

For those ISQ Members lucky enough to reside in South-East Queensland where Ice Skating Queensland owns and operates the Iceworld™ rinks, ISQ Members can also access the following benefits:

  • ISQ Figure Training Sessions:  Over 30 hours a week are dedicated to providing exclusive ice for figure skating training and private coaching, at both Iceworld™ rinks.
  • Discount Entry at Iceworld™: ISQ Members pay a discounted rate to access ISQ Figure Training Sessions. Affiliated Clubs also pay a discounted rate for ice hire.
  • Free Entry at Iceworld™: ISQ rewards our top level skaters with free entry to ISQ Figure Skating sessions after they have achieved all applicable Senior Tests and competed in a Senior division at the most recent Queensland Figure Skating Championships.
  • Discounts at Iceworld™ Skate Shop: ISQ Members can claim up to 10% discount on various items stocked at the Iceworld™ Skate Shop.
