Iceworld™ Public Skating Sessions
Iceworld™ Olympic Ice Rinks have been part of the Brisbane landscape for over 30 years, providing exclusive access to Olympic size ice rinks on the north and south side of Brisbane. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, Iceworld™ will soon be your favourite recreation venue.
Iceworld™ Olympic Ice Rink’s public sessions are available every day of the week at scheduled times. The two-hour sessions welcome beginner and experienced skaters alike, with Iceworld™ Rink Guards (think: lifeguards on skates!) available during all public sessions to give assistance and ensure the session runs safely. Glide into fun at Iceworld™ Acacia Ridge and Boondall!
As you enter the rink, you’ll escape the intense Queensland heat and instantly feel refreshed and revitalised. The music will excite you, the lights will dazzle you, the skating will surprise you and most importantly, you’ll be as cool as ice!
So, gather your friends and family, or fly solo, and book online to secure your place on the ice. Use the booking links below to see current Public Session times at your preferred Iceworld™ Olympic Ice Rink.
Please note: We are closed on New Year’s Day, Good Friday, ANZAC Day, Labour Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Public Sessions may also be cancelled for major ice sport events (e.g. Queensland Figure Skating Championships).

- Long, thick socks will help keep you warm and provide padding for additional comfort in the skates
- Dress in warm, comfortable clothing. Layers work well to maintain movement while keeping you warm
- Gloves will help keep your fingers warm while keeping your hands out of your pockets for balance
- You may also wish to have a scarf and beanie
- Our rinks provide a cosy coffee shop to escape the chill with hot and cold food available. We also stock gloves and socks, just in case.
- Only watching? Bring an extra coat or blanket to make sure you stay toasty warm on the sidelines or sit in our coffeeshop while you watch your friends and family on the ice!

- Junior & Tiny Tot Skaters must always be supervised by an Adult. Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to be on the ice, that’s why Spectators are free! But you do need to keep an eye on your children to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them.
- A well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet is recommended.
- Skate Assist Penguins are available for hire at both rinks and provide stability and support for first time skaters. Only recommended for skaters under 120cm tall.
- Some Public Sessions may include an organised game by our Iceworld™ Rink Guards. These are NOT compulsory, and you should only participate if you feel confident doing so.

Coming as a group of 10 or more and organised by an OSHC, charity or NFP? Groups are welcome to any public session and should book in advance by completing the booking enquiry form below.
Discounted prices may apply and vary based on the session and the number of visits being booked, but all prices include skate hire!

Public Skating Sessions are extremely popular during Queensland school holidays, often selling out. While we often schedule additional public skating sessions during the holidays, avoid disappointment by booking online in advance. It’s the best way to avoid any tantrums!
