Whether a student has a physical, mental, communicative or learning disability, we do our best to accommodate every student. For some students with a disability, ice skating may provide a newfound way of movement and expression.
However, ice skating is a dangerous activity that requires a significant degree of physicality, exertion, balance and concentration. Additionally, our indoor ice rinks are similar to indoor sporting facilities with respect to noise and brightness and may cause some students sensory discomfort.
We expect teachers to have discussed the suitability of ice skating with all students’ parents/carers prior to attending and maintain responsibility for the wellbeing of all students under their care. If you wish to discuss any student’s particular needs, please feel free to raise this with our booking team when making your booking.
Please note, wheelchairs are not permitted on the ice during Public Sessions but we do offer Disability Sessions at both of our venues. If you have a small group of special needs students, the Disability Session may be a better option, and we are happy to assist you in booking that session.
